Glue Dots

The use of heated glue to "set" the materials to be joined via an adhesive medium takes the place of complex synthetic (and often toxic) glue mixtures. The feed or replacement system for the glue sticks can be a "trigger fed" mechanism or manual reload option. The glue dot or band released from glue guns can be placed in a very small aperture or area, versus bottle glue applications.

This use of a "dot" method also coincides with a product made of glue and coated with double sided adhesive. Sold in sheets, clear adhesive glue dots can be picked off in the amount desired and used without a glue gun. Glue dots are suitable for children to work with on crafting while unsupervised. Glue dots require no melting electric current to fasten and stick.

Glue dots make a lot of sense when working with removable items or objects meant to be separated from their presentation medium, such as gift baskets or gift cards. Freshly applied glue dots can be replaced and moved without damage to destination fabrics, papers, or surfaces.

Tacky glue, fabric adhesive and temporary adhesive can wash out or solidify fraying trim, but glue dots allow for additional sticking support for posts, decorations, and more. Glue dots are a good temporary measure to use when chemical adhesives would scar fabrics, dissolve materials, or leave scars or unsightly residues on surfaces.
